A great toy from THAILAND November 19, 2008
This toy is fairly sturdy and has a nice sound to it. It seems the other two reviewers didn't do their homework when it comes to where the toy is manufactured. PLAN TOYS is a Thai company and their toys are manufactured in THAILAND, not the US or Taiwan (which is Chinese). Plan Toys is, however, a "green" company, and makes quality toys. The US market is inundated with with Chinese toys, and nowadays even quality toy makers like German HABA are producing some of their products in China. It is our duty, I feel, as parents, to inform ourselves where our childrens' toys are coming from. Thailand is an up and coming competitor on the toy market, and apparantly is striving for quality standards that China could only dream of.

We purchased this for our 12 month old grandson - an instant hit!!! He loved it. It is sturdy and well-constructed with a nice tone. His mother, the music teacher, was very happy with it.

I don't have this particular product yet, but I do have the PlanToy drum and little bear. My 2 year old son loves both of these products but I have to correct the previous person who reviewed the Xylophone and said they are made in USA. These products are made in Taiwan, at least all the ones I have seen. They are a green company who use rubberwood and non-toxic dyes for their toys. I have given this toy an overall 4 stars just because I think it will be just as great as all the other products I have from this company.

Best thing is it is Made In USA and is not toxic and my 1.2 year old loves to play it.
