CHEAP CONSTRUCTION December 10, 2008

I bought this for my 10 yr old daughter for Christmas. When it arrived, one of the cheap hinges was missing the pin, so when I picked it up by the handle, the bottom came apart. (I had to fix this with a paperclip because Amazon told me a replacement wouldn't be available until after the holidays.) For $95.00, I did not expect the case to be made of solid oak, but at the very least a heavier laminated particle board type material. I have no idea what this "wood" is, but it is thin, flimsy and cheap. She will enjoy the variety of art supplies, but I don't expect the case to last more than a month.
