This book was a great help. It's a relief to know you are not alone. Most people view single pregnant women negatively, and this book really put things into perspective. Also had great advice on custody, child support, and resources available for those who need help. Would recommend this book to any single women who find themselves pregnant.
The most useful book when I was pregnant and beyond May 21, 2008
This was by far the most useful book I read during my pregnancy. I continue to reference it six months after my son was born, not only for my own use, but to find information for other women in my single mother support groups.
Its not a book that details the medical aspects of pregnancy, like What to Expect or The Pregnancy Bible, so don't expect that. And, like another reviewer said, this is a book for women who did NOT plan to be single and pregnant. Women who have decided to have children on their own would probably prefer the Complete Single Mother (which is a good book for anyone who is single and pregnant, or for any single mother, no matter what the circumstances are surrounding her situation).
I recommend this book to single mothers as well. It is packed with valuable financial information, tips on dealing with your ex, and lots of empowerment.

I was totally in the dark about being a single mom when i discovered i was 6 weeks pregnant. The father of my child left me when I was 4 months pregnant. He abandoned me and my unborn child. I needed direction. This book helped me to get the wheels spinning and a game plan in motion. My son was born in November 2007 and my friends and family were amazed and in awe of how prepared and on top of things I was. This book put everything in perspective. Thanks Mari for the excellent book!

Great book for women who had not planned to be single and pregnant, but not particularly suitable for those who are to be single mothers by choice. I fall into the latter category and found some useful points, but most of the book was targeted for those not planning to be pregnant and single.
